IR Telemetrics is a global technology leader in providing wireless data transfer from internal reciprocating and rotating components, such as connecting rods. Our wireless measurement technology meets industry needs for compact, lightweight, and reliable wireless data transfer devices for use in harsh operating environments.

CONNECTING ROD TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT

Connecting rod temperatures are challenging to measure, but our lightweight, durable temperature transmitters are routinely mounted to the rod and send multi-channel thermocouple data to a stationary receiver.  By gaining the temperature distribution of a connecting rod, engineers can better predict the distortions and thermal stresses induced by operation

CONNECTING ROD STRAIN MEASUREMENT

Our custom-designed wireless telemetry systems can transmit real-time data from the connecting rod, including bending, compressive, and tensile loads, through our Analog RF data transmission systems.

CONNECTING ROD BOLT STRAIN MEASUREMENT

The compact size and light weight of our custom-designed wireless telemetry systems allow us to mount on a connecting rod cap to measure bolt strain.

CONNECTING ROD OIL FLOW MEASUREMENT

Oil flow through connecting rods and crankshafts can be measured accurately using our proprietary oil flow transducer system. We install a small positive displacement transducer on oil passageways, along with our wireless telemetry systems to send data to our receivers.

CONNECTING ROD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

Wireless transmission of pressure data from the connecting rods in engines is reliable and accurate using IR Telemetrics technology. This pressure data, in combination with temperature, strain and oil flow, can be used to improve engine performance.

Installing transmitters on the rod requires precision machining and wire routing from sensor locations to the transmitter. This is handled by our expert engineers and technicians, yielding a turn-key solution and guarantee of successful data transfer.  Our real-time data flow from the connecting rod yields valuable insights as to how different engineering parameters vary from startup to steady state operation.
